Gold Stars Lesson 13

On Lesson 15 we will celebrate the end of the semester with "Instrument Day". Each family in class will have a chance to share an instrument or vocal talent if they would like to. Performing is optional and you are welcome to just come and enjoy, but we would love to hear from you or your child!

If you have a family member or friend who plays an instrument, we would love for you to invite them to attend. (It would be extra fun if you know someone who plays one of the instruments we have listened to this semester, or if you can invite someone to play a song from our semester album. However we are interested in hearing from all musicians, no matter what!)

The Chinese Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival, is one of the most important traditional events in Chinese culture. It’s origins are rooted in different myths involving a heroine named Chang'e who lives on the moon. Popular activities during the Moon Festival include getting together to watch the full moon, eating moon cakes and singing moon poems.

Optional Home Fun Activity: Color the “Moon Festival Dance” page on page 17 in the workbook

(Remember, these activities are optional but can be a great bonding experience to do with your child during the week.)
